The Peace Keeper

Character 3, Nine 'The Peace Keeper'. Compared to the other characters, Nine is the morally conflicted bad guy turned good. Captain of the 9th Division Riot Squad, nine abandons his duties in search of truth after learning of the Avalon Corporations corruption over the LCPD. Nine is a mysterious character, devoid of emotion in his look as he keeps to himself and remains focused on his role. Deadpan and nonchalant, hidden deep down is a piercing sense of justice, resolve and unwavering determination.

Nine's design was a lot of fun to come up with, as there were many ideas for the character I wanted to blend together. The characters design is a bizarre mix of riot police and shinobi design, a police-ninja so to speak. Having this standout mix seemed fitting for someone who would be a squad captain, the best of the best. The overall look would take standard issue riot gear and morph the shaping of the armor padding into something reminiscent of traditional Bushido armor. Introducing the white belt and the twin-tail cloak draws in on that shinobi theme and gives the design some flair. The colour palette is a divide of dark and light, black for the armor and the white albino complexion of the character himself, meant to represent the good of the character hidden underneath a bad exterior.
