The Lambent Yokai

Character 4, Riley 'The Lambent Yokai'. This street kid is an info broker around the grungy urban districts of the city, all the while acting as head honcho for the The Lambent Yokai street gang. Riley and the Yokai act to protect the urban districts and its residents against the exploitation from rival gangs. Chilled, smug and deceptive in her looks, Riley deep down lives life doing whats right by risking herself to protect those around her.

The characters design takes inspiration from modern Japanese/Korean streetwear and techwear fashion, accessory heavy clothing with dark neon themes. Using this I made the base and accents of the characters clothing bright to stand out from the large and dark areas of the jacket and trousers. On the back of the jacket I added an Oni head design to go with the Yokai theme, and chose dark purple and neon green as the main colour palette to give the character a venomous look.
